Joey Rudel had himself quite a spring for the pirates track and field team and now one of the state's best high jumpers is carrying his success into the summer season Rudel just took home first place last weekend at the region 16 Junior Olympic championships in Modesto with a high jump of six feet eight inches with the victory Rudel advances to the Hershey national Junior Olympic track and field championships in Sacramento from July 22nd to the 28th the soon-to-be senior took first place in the ocean League championships and CIF central section and Masters Championships this past spring as well as 5th place at the CIF state finals he soared to a personal record of 6 feet 10 inches at the Maurice Greene Invitational at Oaks Christian High School back in March
